Djer|ma «DYEHR muh, dee EHR-», noun, plural -ma or -mas.
1. a member of a Negroid people living in the southwestern part of Niger. Most Djerma raise such crops as rice, cotton, millet, and peanuts on small farms near the Niger River.
2. the Sudanic language of this people, a dialect of Songhai.
